Boundaries
The DSA’s boundaries are within the Damascus School Cluster. These boundaries help ensure that families residing within this area have every opportunity to participate in all DSA sponsored activities. Players that reside outside of Damascus, and/or do not attend a Damascus Cluster School, may only be placed on immediate level rosters.
* Boundary Exceptions
Teams including select and in-house teams who are unable to fill their roster with DSA members, may venture outside the defined boundaries to recruit players. Those children who reside outside the boundaries who are able to participate on a DSA team (due to a shortage of players) will not be grand fathered into the program at the completion of the season.

Concussion Policy
DSA takes concussions and concussion awareness extremely seriously. If a player has a suspected concussion, DSA’s policy requires the player be immediately removed from play and seek medical attention. Players are prohibited from returning for practice or games until they have a note from their doctor permitting them to play. A concussion is caused by a blow to the head or body that causes the brain to make rapid movements inside the skull. Please visit http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/pdf/coaches_Engl.pdf to learn more about the signs and symptoms of concussion.

Additionally, in accordance with the recent State of Maryland mandated law, ALL DSA head and assistant coaches are required to successfully complete a FREE 30 minute online course “Concussion In Sports – What You Need To Know.” This course can be found at http://www.nfhslearn.com. All coaches must submit a copy of their certificate to sports commissioner prior to first sports practice of the season. This is a one time training, however a copy of certificate must be provided to the various sport commissioners that individuals may participate as a coach.
